THE VISION BEHIND MORRIGAN
Morrigan Tattoo was built on a clear vision: to approach Norse tattooing with depth, research and artistic integrity, far beyond trends or generic designs.
HÉLÈNE MARTIN - NORDIC & VIKING TATTOO SPECIALIST
I’m Hélène, a tattoo artist specialized in Norse mythology and Viking-inspired art.
I’ve been tattooing since 2019 and run my own private studio in Northern France.
I design custom pieces rooted in history, symbolism and storytelling — from full sleeves to large-scale compositions.
A Longstanding Passion for Norse Culture
My fascination with Viking art and Norse mythology started long before I began tattooing.
Music, history, archaeology and ancient symbolism have always been part of my world.
I regularly travel to museums and historical sites across Scandinavia and Europe to study original sources, runestones and artifacts.
For me, Norse tattooing is not a trend, it’s a cultural and artistic commitment.
My Approach to Tattooing
Each project begins with a conversation.
I work exclusively with custom designs. No copied artwork, no generic flash.
Every tattoo is built around your story, your body structure and the symbolism that truly resonates with you.
Large-scale projects are carefully planned to flow naturally with anatomy and age beautifully over time.
My goal is not only to create a tattoo, but to create a piece that feels powerful and meaningful for years to come.
Private Studio Experience
I work from my own private studio in Northern France, by appointment only.
This allows me to focus fully on each client and each project, without distractions.
Whether you’re traveling from France, the UK, Belgium or further abroad, I aim to make your experience structured, comfortable and well-organized.
Studio Commitment & Events
I work exclusively from my private studio in Northern France and do not normally travel for guest spots or conventions.
My focus is on long-term projects and maintaining a stable, structured environment for my clients.
However, I made a special exception for the Jorvik Tattoo Moot in York (2026) — an event closely connected to Norse culture and history.
This remains the only convention I choose to participate in, as it aligns deeply with my artistic and cultural commitment.
Beyond Tattooing
Beyond my work as a tattoo artist, I’m also a mother of two boys.
My youngest son, Trevor, was born in 2018. He lives with a genetic condition (Pitt Hopkins Like 1) that has profoundly shaped our family’s journey and my own perspective on resilience, patience and strength.
Because of him, I created an association dedicated to supporting his needs and raising awareness around his condition.
Regularly, I organize tattoo raffles where participants can win custom pieces: all proceeds are used to help fund the association and its projects.
Motherhood, tattooing and advocacy are deeply connected in my life. They all stem from the same intention: building something meaningful, lasting and strong.
